When many Americans think of Thanksgiving they usually think of the same type of menu: turkey, stuffing, cranberry dressing, etc…that is unless you have family not from America. Case in point with Debbie Lee, she didn’t eat traditional Korean foods growing up but had a grandmother that always brought kimchi to Thanksgiving dinner. Being polite she would put it on her plate, next to her potatoes like her brother would. The mixture led to her creating kimchi smashed potatoes.
