Came across this post this morning and found it pretty interesting that a man from Israel was so interested in Chinese food that he learned to cook it. Though unknown to Israel at the time, that is where he first had Chinese food for the first time. More interesting is that he went directly to Taiwan to learn about making it. He is now credited with bringing Chinese food to Israel. He also owns several restaurants there. Check out his Q&A with LA Weekly as they talk about how Israel received Chinese food, the connection between Asian and Italian noodles, and trying to break into American television.
