When you think of the Gangsta Rap movement from the West Coast and it’s rise from local notoriety in cities like Compton to global recognition you probably think of a few names like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy E and a few others. Another contributing person the world may never think of is Wan Joon Kim, however a number of gangsta raps’ early fans and the movement’s pioneers know who Kim is. He died recently after a bout with cancer but his legacy lives on through generations of families who go to his swapmeet stand to buy new music. Full article here.
