Spike Lee Premiere’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’ at Cannes to Audience Acclaim

Director Spike Lee made a big splash at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with the premiere screening of his new film BlacKkKlansman. Event attendees, including Ava DuVernay, Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett, and Christopher Nolan, gave the film a huge standing ovation after it ended. Opening this summer on August 10, the movie produced by Jordan Peele, portrays the story of an African-American detective who teams up with his Jewish partner to infiltrate the Klu Klux Klan in 1979. There are many fitting and relevant themes in the movie that is sure to tie in to today’s political climate, with direct references to David Duke and Donald Trump.
