The Lance Armstrong doping allegation saga has had plenty of ups and downs especially as of late but things really took a turn for the worse for Lance in the last 24 hours. With what Nike called insurmountable evidence coming forth, the brand and the cyclist are parting ways. Lance has stepped down from his position as chairman with Livestrong and Nike has terminated his endorsement. Nike went on to say that they do not support the use of illegal performance-enhancing drugs and were misled by Armstrong over a decade. Nike will rename the Lance Armstrong center and anything else with his name or likeness attached. Nike will however continue to support the humanitarian cause of Livestrong. It will be interesting to see how the world who was touched by this movement will move forward with this. Will people be able to separate Lance and the Livestrong movement? Though he was doping, is Lance Armstrong still not a representation of someone who fought cancer to move forward with his life? Is that not what the campaign is about? How does this affect the sport around the world and how the athletes are viewed? Let us know in the comments.
