Netflix continued it’s celebration of diversity and inclusion in Hollywood on Tuesday with their first ever Strong Black Lead party at the Raleigh Studios, their #FYSEE space. Strong Black Lead is Netflix’s definitive stamp into the conversation of diversity and inclusion in film and TV. The social handles have paid homage to leading and supporting black talent across multiple disciplines from comedians Retta (Parks & Recreation) and Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) to legends such as Jenifer Lewis and Marla Gibbs. Netflix has planted the flag for the entire streaming industry.
Tuesday’s party introduced the world to Strong Black Lead. Comedians and influencers such as Quinta B and Lil Rel joined a long list of Netflix talent such as Russell Hornsby (Seven Seconds), the cast of Dear White People, and cast members from Netflix’s show GLOW to commemorate the occasion with fans.
