Hip Hop is one of the most popular forms of music in the world, making fans of various genders, ethnicities, etc. Yet it is still an art that is for the most part openly homophobic. MMXLII, while attending Through The Mic, an event at LACMA ( The Los Angeles County Museum of Art ), spoke with two LA based rappers [of Living Legends fame], Murs and Medusa, about their thoughts when it comes to Homosexuality & Hip Hop. As the world becomes more tolerable of various cultures, lifestyles, and looks to embrace a more truly “equal” society; it’s important to see how the world’s various sub-cultures are evolving into that train of thought as well. And if some of these sub-cultures have been reluctant to do such, what are the steps needed to motivate them to make those forward strides? Let us know your thoughts on this.
