In a sign of solidarity and pride, May first marks “May Day” where people will participate in marches across the nation to fight for minorities and workers’ rights. More than 100,000 people are expected to participate in the march in Los Angeles alone. In an effort of coming together, protesters are defining the march as one of unity and resistance during a time of great divide in our nation.
In Los Angeles, which is considered the largest march, more than 100 organizations are preparing for a massive march from MacArthur Park to Los Angeles City Hall. The march has been dubbed “Resist Los Angeles.” Los Angeles which has one of the largest Latino populations in the US, is anticipated to show a massive crowd to show up and participate in the march.
As our country continues to be in a time of great divide, it shows great reassurance that people are uniting and show resistance where it is much needed. Continue to make your voice heard and stand up for the values you hold true to yourself. RESIST.
