mass, A Solo Exhibition by Nicole Naone [VIDEO]

Nicole Naone‘s art is born of confusion — in her own words, she seeks to “construct a language that shows both the supple illusions of womanhood and the crude reality of the natural world.” In “mass,” her debut solo exhibition at Honolulu’s The Human Imagination, this confusion shows itself in iterations of the soft female form in hard mediums of bronze, foam, plaster, along with illustrations. Furthermore, though effortless-looking, the smooth, organic lines and silhouettes present in her work require a special precision and careful crafting. In this video preview for the exhibition we get a glimpse into this process of crafting a whole, finished product from conflicting halves. “mass” will run for the entire month of August. – Hypebeast
