Technology and social media is definitely changing the parameters of how people are dating, finding love, etc. It’s a very interesting thing when someone uses Twitter and Facebook to create their marriage proposal. Hit the jump to see exactly how.
On Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 3:15pm PST, after 4+ years of dating, I proposed to my girlfriend. Given that we both work in social media (her – Twitter, me – Facebook), I wanted to leverage both platforms in the proposal. Needless to say, it involved some coordination among all of our friends and family. =]
To briefly summarize the plan, after a day of wandering through the Dogpatch and Mission Districts of San Francisco, we found ourselves “unexpectedly” meeting our friends at Dolores Park. What the video doesn’t capture is that immediately after I stepped away from the group, three of her coworkers bombed her phone with tweets telling her to watch a video. The rest is history.
I can’t thank all of you enough for helping make this day possible. A special thanks goes to our film crew, Christina Park, Stasia Liu, the Curtis family, and Jillian Horn and the Mission Bowling Club staff.
