Earlier Version of MLK’s “I Have A Dream” Speech Found

It turns out that the 1963 ‘I Have A Dream’ speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lincoln Memorial, was not the first time that he had given a speech on the topic. Martin Luther King Jr., had given the speech in 1962 to a high school in Rocky Mount, NC.

The tape was revealed by North Carolina State University earlier this week, although the tape itself was discovered back in 2013. The verification, restoration, and exportation to a digital format took some time, and that is why it has taken so long to release the knowledge of the existence of the tape to the public. It has been said that the recording will be made available to the public online later this year. Read more here.
