Major League Baseball turned some heads after an all-night hacking spree where seven baseball teams had their social media platforms hijacked by online pranksters. One of the more notable updates said Derek Jeter of the Yankees had just had a sex change. Most of the updates definitely seemed to target current events and specific demographics such as Muslims, gays and trans-genders. The overall internet sentiment was that no one took these things seriously or offensive once the teams announced the hacks. An investigation has commenced since then. Interesting that someone was able to hack professional sports accounts so easily and use their large platform to ridicule certain people and cultural groups. The question this begs is how far are people willing to go share their ignorance against others in this digital age?
