SUGAR MAKES US DUMB [STUDY]

Recent study at UCLA showed via rats that a high-sugar diet over a long term can alter your brain’s ability to learn and remember information.   Pretty interesting to know as we know how much high-fructose foods are consumed here in the United States.  Think about that information and string it together with our education system and the amount of technology that doesn’t stimulate our brain but allows us to “veg out” and you can imagine a number of effects that are possible.  Read the full article here and see what people are saying about it here.

For the latest issue of their publication, The Rig Out team has produced an editorial focusing on the compact working and living environment that is prevalent in Japan. Featuring photography from Antony Crook and styling by Glenn Kitson, the editorial sees The Rig Out’s Dan Doyle and James Bowthorpe interviewing local craftsmen and artisans as they set out to document “the same culture that brought us the walkman or gameboy – small boxes, complicated insides.” The photos see the locals inside their own places of work and sporting a combination of pieces from Carhartt heritage and Edwin Overworks alongside their own garb. INTERRACIAL MARRIAGE ACCEPTANCE GROWING

According to CNN “intermarriages” are on the rise since the Supreme Court struck down a ban on interracial marriage.  The study was conducted by Pew Research Center’s Social and Demographic Trends project.  Social media sites had a lot to say about it.  Some were excited others longing for a day where inter-racial marriages are no longer a big deal.  These “inter-marriages” hit an all time high of 8.4% in 2010 compared to 3.2% in 1980.  CNN has even more details as far as numbers so you can see the growth and where it’s happening.  What are your thoughts?  How do you think these acceptances have influenced cultures in these areas?
