When it comes to diversity, United Colors of Benetton, has often been considered the poster child for the effectiveness of featuring a diverse range of models in their catalogs and ads. Now the British multinational retail chain Debenhams is putting its love of diversity to the ultimate test with an even bolder approach that features a bevy ‘realistic’ models. Their latest catalog will feature everything from multicultural, to diversity in body shapes and many of the models wearing prosthetic limbs, this is by far the most diverse ad campaign we’ve come across. But only time will tell if this marketing tactic to include models that look like actual customers will change the types of models we see best casted industry-wide.
