We’ve highlighted Psy’s rising popularity of his song/video Gangnam Style and it’s accompanying dance moves. Pretty feel good song yet it got 14 people fired recently. 13 lifeguards and their manager were fired by El Monte Aquatic Center for a parody video of Gangnam Style that was posted on YouTube. The firings were made last Wednesday and has caused outcries from supporters of the lifeguards. With over 100,000 views of their video it makes sense why they’ve already gained almost 2000 supporters of their new Facebook page: Bring back the 14 El Monte Lifeguards
Do you think their punishment was fair or overdone? Is the reaction to this video possibly because of a disconnect between the young workers and the older “higher-ups”?
